Exploring the Metamorphosis of Human Nature in the Light of God’s Eternal Purpose for Mankind
Change is the only constant thing in the history of man, and this has been proven over the years due to the significant number of changes that have taken place and are still taking place. We talk about climate change, and we are dealing with the effects of it in our world now. The effects of this change have made so much impact in the environmental landscape of the universe. Our body is constantly changing; what we eat is changing, the news is changing, the economic climate and politics around the globe are changing, the health system is changing, and the National Health Service is changing. Everything is changing, and we now live in a very confused world because science and technology cannot fix the inconsistencies and the ever-changing system of our world today.
The fact that science and technology are even changing so very rapidly is another big challenge for our world; if technology is changing, and science is changing the way they are, it all implies that both cannot be the solution to this transition that is affecting a lot of things. The mental health of a significant amount of people is affected by these changes and this rapid movement of our world to God-knows-where.
But one thing remains unchanged! Jesus Christ said in Matthew chapter 24 verse 35 that “heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away”.
Nothing will change the word of the Lord even if the whole world passes away, even if everything changes. It doesn’t matter what our minds are telling us, it does not matter what the science is saying, it doesn’t matter if the climates are changing in every continent of the world. One thing remains sure and certain; the word of the Lord and His promises will never change.
God said to Abraham in Genesis chapter 18 when he was visited by the three mysterious men, and he entertained them. He was told that his wife, Sarah, will carry a baby by that time the following year. Knowing that Sarah’s body was already old that her womb medically would not be able to carry a baby, but because it has been spoken by God, it was said in verse 10 of Genesis 18 and repeated inverse 14 of the same chapter. When God speaks a word or makes a promise, they must come to pass. His word is as good as action. Though Sarah did not believe, she laughed and thought in herself; she was beyond the age that she could give birth to any child. The word of the Lord breaks the protocol of science and medicine, even technology. it does not matter how bad the situation is, what is important is that we receive and believe the promises of God.
One thing that remains consistent, ever-effective, and very potent is the word of God. It never changes, never diminishes, it is always very effective, and it will surely come to fulfillment if we believe and trust Him, holding unto His word. Regardless of how long it took God to respond to Abraham and Sarah’s childlessness, God gave them the child of promise, Isaac, and through him, many nations were given birth. The word of God and His promises are never late. We only need to wait on Him and continue to trust Him because God is ever faithful and His words remain unchanging, potent, supernaturally, and efficient in transforming destinies. According to the words of Jesus, “heaven and earth will pass away but my words will by no means pass away”.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to hold on to your word that has remained unchanging over the ages, and let your word richly dwell in me, reminding me of your wonderful promises every day.
Bible Text: Genesis 18:9-15 NKJV
[9] Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.” [10] And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) [11] Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. [12] Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” [13] And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ [14] Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” [15] But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”
