Water from the Wells

Today I had a sudden flash of revelation as I stood looking at the cold tap in the bathroom and at the water pouring from it. I thought “that’s beautiful” as I stood looking at the water, translucent, flowing, sparkling, and so precious. For the moment I wondered how it would be in a world that had never seen water. Then I grasped the fact that life would be impossible.

You will gather that I am not very wide awake when I start the ablutions of the day! However I have always been aware of the necessity of water, but it was the sheer loveliness and indescribable beauty of the water as it flowed that impacted me this morning.

Life would be impossible without our beloved, precious, and amazing Lord Jesus. It is not enough to think of Him, we just have to sing of Him, and thrill to the unutterable glory of His loving and transcendent majesty, and the splendour of His Name. To believe in Him, to worship Him, to breathe His Name, makes our hearts overflow with adoration and delight. Joy and laughter bubble up from our hearts for He has filled us with His Spirit. Jesus we love you! We praise your glorious Name, and we thank you for the Cross and empty Tomb. We thank you that today you pray for us in the presence of our Father God. Hallelujah!

Meditating on;

Isaiah 12:3

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation…and we felt the Lord was saying”:-

Drink deeply of my love. As lips parched with thirst come eagerly to the cup that holds water, so come with thirst and desire to drink from my deep and beautiful wells. Each time you drink of me life flows into you. Eternal life satisfying the spirit and setting it free. There will always be enough for you, and you yourself will become a well from which others can drink and be refreshed. Drink deeply of me, for I would have you warriors and overcomers.

Do not sip but take deep draughts, and drink so that you are filled with joy by the water of life.

Truly I am your salvation and the salvation of the whole world of those who put their trust in Me. I am both your strength and your song, for I give to you the strength that sings for joy over every obstacle and difficulty that comes in your path. For I am your God and Saviour the One who laughs in the very presence of My enemies and they are put to flight. Come to the wells of my salvation, and draw water for every situation, for there is so much water – water in abundance – water for cleansing – water that assuages all thirst – water that enables growth and fruitfulness – water that washes away detritus, and all that would spoil and cause stagnation and pollution.

How blessed are those who truly rely on me, for I will come to the aid of those who would draw water and I will remove the stone from the well, and I myself, like Jacob of old, will draw water and water the flocks, and they shall be gathered unto me.
