“The destination of a man that is dead is non-negotiable. The responsibility of your destination in eternal life is rooted in your decision to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ”
Your decision determines your destination. Every day we make decisions in order to move from one destination to another. It, therefore, connotes that every decision we make is taking us somewhere. A destination is a product of decision. Where you are now is what was decided in the past and where you will be tomorrow is what you decide today. The road to destination begins at the point of decision.
The greatest gift God ever gave to man is the gift of eternal life, and to accept this eternal life is by deciding through the power of belief to receive what God has offered to all mankind. The scriptures state “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). One thing that is peculiar to every man without any debate is dead. It does not matter your location, as long as you are on this earth, death is inevitable to all. It is not the fear of death that we should be worried about, but the life after death should be our concern.
The Only Reality
Our destination can be decided here on earth, as the power to determine where we would spend eternity is in our hands. God made it so by giving an open invitation to everybody to come and receive eternal life through his Son, the person of Jesus Christ. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” (Revelation 3:20-21).
Jesus is the gift of eternal life that God gave to all, without discrimination. Whosoever believes in Jesus Christ shall have eternal life. Therefore who you choose to believe in determines where you will go. The ultimate decision anybody can make is the decision of eternal life because it is the decision that will determine where you will spend your eternity. There is nothing more real than eternal life. Everything on earth has an end but eternal life has no end. God, through his everlasting love, has given eternal life to everyone that believes in His Son, Jesus Christ. The interesting thing is that a man can only make that decision when he is still breathing. When the breath is gone, no prayer after death can change the destination. The destination of a man that is dead is non-negotiable. The responsibility of your destination in eternal life is rooted in your decision to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Our destination can be decided here on earth, as the power to determine where we would spend eternity is in our hands. God made it so by giving an open invitation to everybody to come and receive eternal life through his Son…”
Procrastination is Lethal
The gift of God to mankind is so amazing, that it does not matter what anyone has done in the past. Once you decide to receive that gift of life, while you are still breathing, God is always willing to give it to you. It is here on earth that the ultimate decision is been made so that you can be sure that your destination in eternal life is in the kingdom of heaven and not in hell, which is full of pain and weeping. It is better to make the decision today, without procrastinating about your eternal destination. All you need to do is to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and that you are sorry for all your wrong doings and God will forgive you. This is a new start with Him on a clean slate and granting you the eternal life of Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
