“Be still & know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)
“What power is manifested in a field of ripening wheat; what beauty is perceived in a single blossom of springtime. There are many different expressions of might and majesty, and the noisy clamour of mankind in its business often achieves little in comparison with what I do quietly in the earth, scarcely noticed by those who choose to live their lives under pressure and with frenzied activity.
How much practice in the art of patience it requires to be still in times of anxiety and disturbance. For to be still is not to be slack and unfocussed. To be still is to be at peace in the storm, and to be calm when others are in panic.
This stillness of faith requires a childlike simplicity of trust, which brings patience in adversity, and hope in times of difficulty. Be still and watch, and you will see My hand at work.”
When everything is being shaken look to Me the unshakeable One in whom is all strength and all truth. What I have established is established for eternity. Come into the citadel of My strength. Be at peace even while the storm rages without. So do not fear though the mountains fall into the sea, though nations are in uproar – just be still and know that I AM God.
