2 Corinthians 12:9 [NLT]
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me”
Someone says we can only appreciate peace after we have experienced war, when we have been through many troubles, trials, and tribulations. The way to test the evidence of the power of Christ in us is when we are going through challenges and trials. Our response to this will be an automatic display of who we are and what we believe. Then we find two people go through the same circumstance and situation and one is broken beyond remedy and the other goes beyond survival mode, but thrives in the same atmosphere.
The Apostle Paul mentioned to the Corinthian Church that the power of God is tested in our witness. The perfect time and season to test the power of Jesus in a believer is when they are weak, due to the turbulence of life. Therefore, we can only boast of our weakness and inadequacies, because this is when the strength of Jesus is made perfect. When we have some human capacitance and intelligence to display, we do not have a true test of the part of God at work. Some might think it is because they have this education, influence, personal capacity, and expertise in some area of calling, vocation, or career.
But the truth is our human inputs are good, but they’re not enough to fulfill God’s purpose and program for us on earth. We cannot boast of the power of God if we do not allow Him to do things through us, and if we allow Him, we must acknowledge Him as the Almighty who gives us strength to accomplish whatever we have or become. The only way to proclaim the power of Jesus walking through us is when we allow Him to step in during times of challenges, incapacitations, and troubles. The name of Jesus is a strong tower, when we are tired when are afraid, we must run into it and we shall be saved (Proverbs 18:10).
We live in a time and age when we have everything at our disposal. We have access to so much information in minutes via the internet technology. We have access to so many solutions; science, technology, and medicine. However, these solutions have their limitations and these limitations have been proven. They are not a complete solution. They are only solutions for a moment and some of them need regular updates, that even if these are not updated, they become a burden and eventually become obsolete and no longer useful.
Only the name of Jesus, the power of Jesus can give us the lasting solution to any form of troubles that we might be going through. So the evidence of God’s power is displayed when we allow God to step in during our season of weakness, trials, and challenges.
The question then is, what season are you today? Do you have evidence of the power of God in your present situation? The way to prove that is when you allow Jesus into your situation. You can allow Jesus today so that you can have complete evidence; a testimony of the power of Jesus in your life.
