Isaiah 40: 27-31
“Why would you ever complain, O Jacob,
or, whine, Israel, saying,
“God has lost track of me.
He doesn’t care what happens to me”?
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?
God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.
We all live in a world of uncertainties, living one day at a time. The thought alone is exhausting and tiring not knowing what happens the next day or what the future brings. Most people are just tagging along. Let’s assume all that is happening is a flight with no particular destination, with everyone just seated and even though tired but there is virtually nothing anyone could do except the plane touches ground. Everyone on that flight have absolutely no power to do anything but to draw strength from themselves and just rest in God.
In the verses above, are you whining just like the character above thinking God has lost the track of you or doesn’t even care what happens to you? The verse above says that “Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out.”
Get Fresh Strength
God doesn’t and cannot and will never forget you. He is the God that sticks closer to us than we think. He is not a “come and go” God. He is in the situation with you, even though you might not know it, but He is the one that has not allowed you to drop out. Even when you wish you could just drop out, He says No, you can’t give up just yet. “He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.” So the only thing, I mean the only thing that can see you through this unprecedented times is to wait on Him as a waiter waits on their customers and cast all your fears, worries, burden upon Him because He cares for you.
“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.”
It’s not too late to wait on God! When you wait on Him, He is ready to give you fresh strength to spread your wings so as to soar like eagles, even when all things seem unfathomable, He will be right there making sure it doesn’t tire you out. When it seems the strength to soar is no longer there, He will make sure you don’t lag behind and give you fresh strength so you don’t drop out.
