“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (Genesis 1:26).
We live in a time and season when we must understand who we are what we stand for and. This understanding shapes the way we see life; it brings us into a place of peace with ourselves. Most of the time, we are carried away by what we see but these things that we see are not directly related to our identity. But it creates a lot of worries and anxiety in our minds.
Our Creator wants us to be fulfilled and that is why you and I have been created with a unique gift, a unique talent that must be discovered. This discovery will bring us to a place of joy. I have seen people who have lived the lives of others. What does that mean? It means looking at others and trying to do exactly what they do. But my findings are that no man will ever be fulfilled living a life meant for someone else. Imitation will always be an imitation, and this will never be the original. It will only create more worries and anxiety. Some say it steals our joy and leaves us empty.
The Source of True Identity
Every human has an identity, but this identity can only be found in Christ. Christ has revealed himself to us as the Saviour. He wants to help us discover who we are. And as a matter of truth, He came, and He knew who He was, so He is a very great example of Someone Who lived a fulfilled life because He came purposely to die and He never gave up this purpose for any reason. He had challenges; Jesus was hungry like every other man. Sometimes He wanted to drink water, really very thirsty, even at some point during His time on the planet Earth, He was scared to go to the cross, but He never gave up, as He said I would rather do the will of the Father; “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42).
So why don’t you seek the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth today for your identity? He wants to help, He wants to fix things because we can only try, but we cannot fix things. He wants to open our eyes to see, but we must sincerely desire to see before we give Him the right to do what He would love to do, which is to help us to sustain us, to keep us, and to guide us through the Holy Spirit. “16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).
PRAYER
Dear Father, please help me to trust you enough to enable me to discover my identity. Amen!
