I’ve learnt that when you do great things for other people in secret, God will reward you openly.
Dear ‘Christian who does big things for Jesus’,
When you do something amazing in life for someone else or for yourself, don’t sing your own praises especially with vain social media posts captioned like this: “I had the honour of doing this, it was my privilege to do this and that blah blah blah”… I know it’s how the world conducts product/service marketing and brand promotion but don’t forget you’re no longer of the world… everything you do now has to be by faith and you have to be led by the spirit of God.
Matthew 6:1-4
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
I’ve learnt that when you do great things for other people in secret, God will reward you openly. I have also learnt that when you seek God with all your heart he reciprocates by giving you all you need and guides you in the way that you should go.
Proverbs 27:2 (The authorised version):
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips
