About Lorraine Patience

Lorraine is married to Alastair and they have three grown up children and three grandchildren, they live in Morecambe and are part of Gateway House Church. While their children were growing up, Lorraine worked in the prison service for a number of years. During these years, Ali and Lorraine were part of a church in Preston where they served on the leadership team. In November 2014 they moved to Essex for a year to live as part of a Christian Community at a retreat centre. From there, they lived in Sierra Leone, West Africa for two years, working with a UK charity before founding Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries in early 2017. On returning to the UK in 2017, they felt the Lord calling them to live in Morecambe. For over 20 years Ali and Lorraine have been involved in oversees missions work initially in Eastern Europe and now in Africa. Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries, work in the Kailahun District of Sierra Leone, where they have a team travelling around the local villages and communities, showing the “Jesus film” and preaching the good news of Jesus. Ali and Lorraine are also trustees of two other UK registered charities, Transformed International who teach and train Pastors and Church leaders across 11 African nations and Lifewater U.K., who supply and install water filtration systems, providing whole African villages and vulnerable families in refugee camps with safe and clean drinking water. On a more local level Ali and Lorraine are involved in the running of Grace Ministries in the West End of Morecambe, which is part of Gateway House Church. Grace Ministries is a small charity shop and drop-in centre, providing a safe place for people to gather as community, receive love, support and encouragement along with a cup of tea and a biscuit. Lorraine has a passion to love people as Jesus did and to show the love of Jesus to all those He places before her. Through her writing she has a desire to show the love of Jesus and to encourage those reading to be the best they can be in Him and to live the full life promised by Jesus himself.
