An Escape from Eternal Death (1)

Jesus is not a want for man, rather, Jesus is a need for man; because of His faithfulness, God came down in human flesh to save man. The problem of man was sin, and it is the remission of sin that can bring death back to its original state forever.

After the fall of man, sin became the only thing that stood between man and God. Therefore, man could not take away sins just by sacrificing animals. Sin was let loose like a dangerous criminal with a deadly weapon called death, so when man commits sin the result it is death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

Death was Dead

                Onoson Orotoma

Man’s biggest problem was SIN, it is the remission of sin that will put death back to its original state, where it was powerless : the Garden of Eden. The first control man lost in the Garden of Eden was not the control of things, but the control over death. Death was put under man’s control because death was dead and what is dead cannot kill. Man had life in the Garden of Eden, until they sinned. The only thing that can let death loose is when man activates the potency of death through sin. Therefore, God, in His faithfulness, made man aware  that  sin is the activation of the dead  death to bring it to live, and  the death will have the power to kill man and anything that comes out of man, including everything  that is under his control. “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17).

The loss of dominion in the Garden of Eden was not the loss of creativity, but the loss of control over death, which  man had before the disobedience. Man’s world was overturned, what he could control before, now controls him. The state man finds himself was the worst state, since man does not have what it takes to change the situation of things which he had created for himself.

Man was highly influential with authority, because he was the king of the earth before death took control; man was in charge of the dominion which God gave to him, but when man lost that dominion, there arose a need for a saviour, who would save the soul of man from the power of death.

Only the righteous can save man, since everything that comes out of man has been polluted, defiled and corrupted.  Man, therefore, needs a saviour to rescue him from the destruction that he had caused…

Man Became a Slave to Death

Death took control over man’s kingdom called the earth and man became a slave to death because of sin, death took the position of authority, and now have the final say of man’s end on earth. Man can no longer save himself. Therefore, he needs a saviour because everything about man became corrupt and it will only take a man that is incorruptible, holy and righteous to rise up to save man from this condemnation.

The Need for Jesus Christ

Jesus is not a want for man, rather, Jesus is a need for man; because of his faithfulness, God came down in human flesh to save man. The problem of man was sin, and it is the remission of sin that can bring death back to its original state forever.

Jesus Christ came to take away the sins of the world; to overcome death. Only the righteous can save man, since everything that comes out of man has been polluted, defiled and corrupted.  Man, therefore, needs a saviour to rescue him from the destruction that he had caused due to his disobedience to God’s command. “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29).
