A Life of Faith

According to Desmond Tutu, “Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness”. Living in this day and age requires one to always have Hope. I want to encourage you that no matter what you may be facing to always have hope, especially in God who does not change and has proven himself to be faithful over the ages. I can testify of his goodness, not from what I have read only, but from my own personal experience with Him.

One simple Act of Faith

“But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho and she lives among the Israelites to this day” (Joshua 6:25). By this one act of faith, Rahab and her family were saved. She showed kindness to God’s people, the two spies that were sent to Jericho by Joshua. In her conversation with the spies, they swore an oath saying your life for our lives. We see this in Joseph’s life too, through the direction and hand of God, he saves his family from death as a result of a famine in the land. Joseph was given a dream by God to save grain in preparation for the famine.

As you read this today, God has called you to help save your family. We can learn from Joseph and Rahab that following the ways of God is beneficial to our lives and our families. Your purpose is not for you, but to help others. God raises people to help others. God will use you to save you and your family as you stay in obedience and take a step of faith. When you understand like Rahab did that God rules in heaven and the earth, then you have no fear even when trouble arises.

When Rahab heard of what God had done for His people, the Israelites, it made her believe that this same God could help save her and her family. You have a role to play in the fulfilment of God’s plan in your life. Begin to live a life of radical faith today and I can assure you that you will begin to live a life of complete fulfilment and your testimony will be evident to everyone around you, while God is being glorified.
