“So He took hold of this broken vessel, and poured out His love on me…”
I was just a broken vessel
When the Potter came to stay
I was chipped, cracked and dirty
When He found me on that day
I was neither use nor ornament
Rejected and unwanted
My value long since gone
And I was about to be discarded
He looked down and saw me
And saw something that He liked
And He decided to mend me
And put me together aright
So He took hold of this broken vessel
And poured out His love on me
I was filled with peace
And the change began in me
He picked me up so lovingly
And held me in His hands
He filled the chips and mended me
And covered all the cracks
He pieced me together
And stuck me with glue
For only the Potter knew
How to get me looking like new
He made me look so beautiful
That no one else would know
That once I had been broken
And as low as one could go
Today I look like new
And the cracks are now unseen
And if anyone would look at me
They would not know where I’ve been
But I will never forget
How the Potter rescued me
And made me into something new
That I was always meant to be
