We can get entangled in the routines of the past and then get stuck in these usual activities and forget the potency of the power of God to transform situations and circumstances. There are a significant number of issues that have stubbornly refused to respond to our advances and desires for them to change. I am certain that everyone has such situations in their lives; family-related, health, financial, even our walk with Jesus, but in all of these, the Psalmist says “be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10).
It is always very rational and wise to stop for a moment and do some checks in every journey anytime things get somehow unclear or we get confused or tired of re-occurrences of uncertainties. Then stopping and remaining still gives us some time to rest and also a chance to figure out what solutions are available to get a clearer view of what next to do.
The New Year 2023 has just opened up, and you and I will have to stop and “be still” to see God in action. Being still in His presence implies that we trust and have faith in Him. It all means that He is enough for us to make solutions available to meet our needs through the Holy Spirit. Our total dependence on Jesus has a significant amount of benefits and advantages to our daily life challenges and when we take a deliberate decision to be still in His presence in prayer, the study of the word, and meditation in His word, then we will begin to experience both internal transformation and external transitioning into where Jesus wants us to be.
However, rather than looking back into your past, dwelling on your past mistakes and failures, thinking negatively about the new year, and doubting what God can do in the new year (based on the evaluation of your past), walk into this new year with a positive mindset and be still in God’s presence, believing in the power of transformation that is embedded in His name. It is therefore guaranteed that you will encounter Jesus in another dimension based on the intensity of your faith and not only on your human capacity or intelligence.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21) [NKJV].
It is the degree of our understanding and the knowledge of God that we have that determine the exposure and the access that would be granted to us into the fullness of Him and His divine capacities. The earlier we understand this biblical principle in our journey with Jesus the better so that our testimony in this New Year will be different from what we used to have in the past.
As you remain still in God’s presence in the New Year, the Lord will manifest His presence and His power in your situations and circumstances, and you shall see unusual events and happenings as a result of your being still, trusting God and believing in His power of His might. “Be Still”.
Happy New Year, and wishing you a prosperous year 2023.
