It is only in God that we discover our origin, our Identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.
I got thinking very recently about the existence of mankind in relation to the purpose for which we have been created. Having being through a series of experience before I was called into ministry, I have discovered that the only way to live a meaningful life is living within the purpose for which you have been created. In other words, every human being on the planet earth has been created for a purpose and there is no alternative clue to having a fulfilled life without discovering this purpose and living within it. Rick Warren wrote in his book, The Purpose Driven Life, “A life that has no purpose has no meaning, without meaning, life does not have significance and hope”.
You Are Not An Accident
As a pastor, having to engage in counselling and prayers sessions with people, I have heard some individuals say God has forgotten them. They are no longer in the plan of God. They have already concluded in their minds that they have been forgotten by God and life is not worth living. Some have narrated to me how they felt there is no reason for them to live anymore, and they felt like committing suicide. The truth here is that none of us is an accident. Even if you have had a thought that your parents must have conceived you by mistake, you are not a mistake in the mind of God. Before your parents conceived you, you have been conceived in the mind of God and He already has a purpose for your existence.
Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that’s what I had in mind for you.
Jeremiah 1:5
Christ: The Source of Your Purpose
Paul the Apostle stated in his letter to the Colossians 1:16b (MSG) “For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible,…—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.” The only way to gain the maximum use of an electronic device is to have access to the manufacturer’s guide, which is the manual. Any other published guide to the use of such a device can never be as accurate as the one that has been published by the manufacturer. Your purpose in life can only be traced to God, your root, your maker and the author of your life.
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.
Psalms 139:15-16,
Your purpose could only be found in Jesus and until you enter into a relationship with Christ Jesus, you do not stand a chance of knowing why you have been created and life remains meaningless without Christ. “It is only in God that we discover our origin, our Identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.”
Never too Late
Since you are reading this piece of writing now, I am convinced that it is never too late to begin a journey with Jesus today, the journey which leads to knowing your purpose. You are not an accident and you deserve to know why you are here on earth. Knowing and accepting Jesus will usher you into a realm of the supernatural, which opens your subconscious mind unto the purpose for which you have been created and you can begin to live a meaningful life. This brings fulfilment, joy and satisfaction.
If you are already in Christ but do not have an idea of why you are here, it is high time you begin to re-connect with Jesus on a higher frequency in prayer and regular communion with Him and I bet, your spiritual sight will be clearer than ever before. Then you would be able to see and follow the purpose for which you have been made.
“12. Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
13. Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.
(Joel 2:12-13).
